Payroll and Human Resources Coordinator

POSITION: Payroll and Human Resources Coordinator

CITY: Scarborough, ON

LENGTH OF ASSIGNMENT: Full-time, permanent

SALARY: $48,000 - $54,000/yr

Job Description:
  • Responsible for full cycle payroll processing for hourly and salaried employees, for both Ontario and Quebec, in compliance with federal and provincial legislations
  • Responsible for full-cycle recruitment including posting jobs, screening candidates, scheduling and conducting interviews, conducting reference checks and sending employment contracts
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining all disciplinary records and termination paperwork
  • On-boarding of new employees by creating new hire packages, providing orientation and ensuring all required forms are completed
  • Managing and tracking employee vacations and absences
  • Creating and maintaining STD, LTD and WSIB files
  • Updating policies and procedures in accordance with current legislation
  • Managing benefits including medical, dental, vision, and pension plans
  • Maintaining all employee records and reports
Job Requirements:
  • University degree or diploma in Human Resources/Payroll, or in a related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ of related experience supporting HR and Payroll functions, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Strong working knowledge of employment legislation, including pay equity in both Ontario and Quebec
  • Experience in a Manufacturing and Unionized environments considered an asset
