SALARY: $110 000 - $120 000 + benefits + bonus + RRSP

Job Responsibilities:
  • Manage all accounting and financial reporting activities of the business unit (including but not limited to general accounting records and GL maintenance, fixed assets, intercompany reconciliations, inventory accounting
  • Responsible for the timely completion of accurate financial statements and supporting materials on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
  • Proactively prepare analysis of operational and financial results for the business unit
  • Produce management reports and analysis for Operations and Senior Management focusing on key financial and operational metrics of the business
  • Coordinate the preparation of the Annual Budget and the monthly cycle forecasts as a part of a multi-disciplined team within the business unit, including the plant manager and management team
  • Review, monitor and provide all accounting related functions for Capital Assets to ensure proper financial reporting (e.g. acquisitions, disposals, depreciation)
  • Collaborate and liaise with plant operations personnel to ensure standard costs are maintained and updated according to company policy
  • Lead Sarbanes Oxley compliance initiatives within the business unit; develop, document and maintain effective internal controls
  • Continuously assess business and departmental processes, and make changes to improve efficiency and productivity
  • Liaise with external and internal auditors
  • Ensure compliance with tax requirements
  • Provide leadership to the Finance team and ensures assigned responsibilities are completed on an accurate and timely basis
  • CPA designation
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role within a large size manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis including key trends analysis and business case analysis
  • Experience within a SOX reporting environment
  • Experience working with JDE is a great asset
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills
